Golf Outing

Founded in 1885 by Sir John Lumsden, The Royal Dublin Golf Club is steeped in golfing history and presents a stern golfing examination on a truly magnificent links course and is widely accepted as one of the greatest links courses in the world.

The Royal Dublin Golf Club has hosted many Irish championships, starting with the Irish Amateur Open back in 1894 and The Carrolls Irish Open from 1983-1985. The Club has also regularly hosted the Irish Amateur Close and the Irish PGA.

“Five-star golf”, “a top course”, “challenging but rewarding” are some of the comments made by visitors after playing the links at The Royal Dublin Golf Club. The links are a traditional out-and-back design created in 1920 by Harry Colt. In the early 2000's the Club enlisted links design expert Martin Hawtree to make significant changes which have been widely praised and acknowledged by many.
