The Shelbourne Dublin

Experience the elegance and luxury of The Shelbourne Dublin. This exceptional five-star hotel, set in a hundreds-year-old majestic building, is the premier city center hotel in Dublin.

The Shelbourne Hotel was founded in 1824 by Martin Burke, a native of Tipperary, when he acquired three adjoining townhouses overlooking Dublin's St Stephen's Green - Europe's largest garden square. Burke named his grand new hotel The Shelbourne, after William Petty, 2nd Earl of Shelburne.

During the 1916 Easter Rising the hotel was occupied by 40 British troops under Captain Andrews. Their objective was to counter the Irish Citizen Army and Volunteer forces commanded by Michael Mallin. Most notably, in 1922, the Irish Constitution was drafted in room 112, now known as The Constitution Room.

During your stay, settle into gracious rooms featuring plush bedding, generous bath with deluxe amenities, seating area and complimentary Wi-Fi. Treat yourself to pampering treatments in the full-service spa and salon, or stretch your muscles in the indoor pool and fitness center.

The award-winning restaurants of this Dublin hotel offer an array of options, from the most tender steak and freshest seafood to an impeccable High Tea.

Just outside the hotel, all of Dublin awaits you. The hotel overlooks St. Stephen's Green, and is minutes from Dublin's most famous attractions.
